Record GCSE Results at Hope Academy

The improvement momentum to which everyone at Hope Academy has contributed became measurable this summer when the GCSE results were published. The atmosphere of expectation was palpable, and it was gratifying to see so many of our students delighted with their achievements, and receiving the appropriate reward for the hard work they had put into preparing for their examinations.

Congratulations to our Year 11 students, 58% of whom gained A*-C in English and Maths. This is the best outcome for students since the Academy opened, and is another milestone on our journey towards excellence. The percentage of students gaining the English Baccalaureate qualification rose by more than double.

We are not going to become complacent about the performance of our students, however, as it is our aim to offer outstanding education for all. Part of our strategy for improving results still further is to move to a three-year Key Stage 4 course, and this curriculum change is now embedded for the current Year 9 group.

Hope Academy would like to thank all the parents and carers who have supported our students in achieving such a high level of success. It is the strength of this partnership which makes a difference to students’ prospects as they move on to the next stage in their lives.
