Ash Wednesday at Hope Academy

March 1st was Ash Wednesday - the first day of Lent and the day when many Christians receive a cross of ash on their foreheads to symbolise the physical and spiritual beginning of a personal Lenten journey.

During form time on Wednesday morning, each form class took part in an Ash Wednesday reflection with readings and prayers, and students and staff were then invited to receive their ashes.

Special thanks to the chaplaincy students who assisted with the imposition of ashes throughout the day.
