Year 7 Retreat

During week beginning 18th November, the Animate Team from Lowe House Church in St. Helens came along to run our Year 7 Retreat days.

The theme of the retreat was Community, and it focused on our three core values of Respect, Courage and Ambition. The day was based around a piece of scripture from Corinthians 12:27 which highlights the importance of us all being part of the same body with different skills.

Students took part in a variety of tasks. This is what Lilia from 7A and Emily from 7G said about the day:

“Six of the Animate team came to visit Year 7 and grouped us with half of our forms. We all started by playing a game where you put a card on your head and if you had a specific number you would be treated a certain way. We also watched a short clip of The Lego Movie that showed us how our actions can be seen differently by other people. We played the Crystal Maze as well! It was good fun and it helped us to learn about how we should respect other people, and how we should make sure we use our talents and skills in our every day life.”

Students had a fun time and got the opportunity to reflect on how to treat others and how to live out our academy core values.
