Adverse Weather Procedure

Adverse Weather Procedure

Please see below the procedure in the event of adverse weather conditions:

  • The academy will endeavour to remain open unless it is absolutely necessary to close. If the academy needs to close, a notice will be put on the academy’s website (
  • A recorded message will be left on the academy’s telephone system
  • You will receive a parent text (if you have changed your mobile number, please inform us)
  • Local radio stations will be made aware

We will assess the site at 3pm on the day of closure and make a decision about the following day.

In the event that the academy needs to close during the school day due to adverse weather, the following steps will take place:

  • Parents will be informed by parent text
  • Students will leave the academy via their usual means unless parents have stated that in such an event they wish to make alternative arrangements

In both situations, remote learning will be available and students should follow the Remote Learning Plan CLICK HERE
