Transition to T Levels

The aim of this course is to create provide  a clear pathway onto a T- Level course the following academic year OR provide students with the skills to be successful in employment or apprenticeship.

This course will be a full time one year course and is made up of the following elements:-

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognised qualification for computer users. ECDL aims to improve learners' understanding of computers and promotes efficient use of software. Employers are currently saying that young people going into employment lack the basic IT skills required and expected, therefore, we decided that this course should form part of the transition to enable our students to have those transferrable skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The Work Skills qualification has been developed to help students improve their knowledge, understanding and skills in order to gain employment or progress to the next stage of their education. Students will be given numerous opportunities to develop a wide range of employability attributes, which include: general communication skills, interview skills, working in a team, problem-solving and preparing for a work placement.

T – Level Foundation is a programme of lesson to introduce students to the T-Level courses and will mirror the experience students will receive on the T-Level qualifications.  During the year students will complete a HPQ qualification based upon a project of their own choosing.

English and Maths qualifications will be the opportunity for students to further develop these essential skills if they have not reached grade 4 attainment yet.
