Every student is entitled to high-quality career guidance to make informed decisions about their future. Good career guidance is essential for social mobility.  Young people without support at home must be able to draw upon our resources and knowledge to gain from high-quality career guidance

What are the Gatsby Benchmarks?

Gatsby benchmarks

The first-place children usually look for advice is in their home. This can be extremely effective as parents and carers know their children best.  However, the advice that children can get can be partial and can be stereotyped.

No experience of skilled employment, or even any kind of employment in the child’s house can limit opportunities and their pathways. So, in these circumstances the best and maybe only chance of guidance and support is from us at Hope Academy.

Careers are essential to our own wellbeing and to the effective functioning of society as it allows individuals to achieve the lives that they want.

Therefore, at Hope Academy we have many resources and tools available to our staff members.

Mr C Wignall our careers adviser is always on site to support our students.  All students will have at least one opportunity to attend a 1-2-1 careers interview with Mr Wignall who will advise and support to ensure their future choices become a reality.

Please use the resources below to help us work towards providing Gatsby Benchmark 4 and support our students within your curriculum:
