Curriculum

The curriculum for Hope Academy is designed to encourage a thirst for knowledge and understanding and a love of learning. It covers a range of subjects and provides opportunities for academic, technical and sporting excellence.

The curriculum at Hope enables students to experience a wide range of subjects in Key Stage Three. Students develop a broad knowledge and skills base upon which they can build once they select their options for GCSE and begin to develop expertise across a number of different courses in year 10.

Hope has a curriculum offer which extends beyond the Academy day and offers a wide range of expressive arts, sporting and literacy based opportunities provided by staff and external coaches.

Students refine their studies at the end of year 8 and choose two of the following Creative Arts and/or Technology subjects (1 lesson each per week):

Art, Computer Science, Design Technology, Drama, Music

All students study OCR National PE in year 9-11 (Sports Studies or Sports Science).
